Load Bank Testing

The purpose of testing, repairing and maintaining a generator set is to ensure your company has a reliable source of power to the facility or commercial operation.

When Cappell implements a load bank test, an artificial load is positioned on the generator. The test is timed and progressively increases the kW load in specific increments. Cappell records the engine and alternator parameters every time the kW load is increased.

Cappell tests the generator’s ability to handle the boost, and its capability to continue functioning at the highest possible level for a sustained period of time. The equipment needed to complete the test includes a load bank (machine with kW rated sizes and battery like cables).
